Well yet again its that time of the year and it seems like the last 12 months have gone so quickly?
This time last year I was preparing to go away to look after some Penguins for four months, leaving on Christmas Eve was one of the hardest things I have had to do for a very long time. Leaving the Wife alone over the festive season was no fun at all as I’m sure you will agree?
This brings me onto my first point, being alone over the festive period.
Please spare a thought for those that are alone either because they have nobody else to spend it with or because they are forced to serve a duty elsewhere in the world.
Luckily for me, I was surrounded by a few hundred other folk who were in the same boat but its still not great.
Spare a thought for those serving overseas in whatever theatre they just happen to be in!
Finding out that those who were supposed to be close to you didn’t look in on the ones you left behind is devastating, trust me I know, it happened to me while I was away. This is something I will never forget and forgiveness will be very challenging!
Yet another trip to the wonderful Maldives helped tremendously!
Stepping out onto the island of Meeru was amazing and I havnt felt so relaxed for a long long time.
A well deserved break after being away.
Enjoy your time the Christmas and New Year and look after each other!
All the best,
Martin and Lyndsy
